Adult education programs to come online in San Diego

Free online professional certificate programs are going to be offered by San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) to help people with job training at this time. Residents of Sorrento Valley will want to take advantage of this offer.

SDCE will be providing certificates in trades such as accounting, digital media, healthcare and automotive, among others. Some of the courses to be offered will be programming with Python, mobile application development, courses in infant care, and cybersecurity.

The San Diego Community College District will fund this adult education program for residents in the San Diego area, which is being offered through its Interactive Competency-based Online Microcredentialing (ICOM) Academy. More information about such programs is often provided by flyer printing services.

President of SDCE, Carlos O. Turner Cortez, said that the goal was to develop a state-of-the-art online platform to serve working adults. He added that it is hoped the ICOM Academy will be able to provide the high-quality education many adults need.

The ICOM Academy was originally scheduled to be piloted in the fall offering five certificate programs. Spring 2021 would see the Academy move to a fully online environment. Cortex says the Academy will now be launching next month with 11 career education certificates completely online to be offered in the fall, and three programs to be added in January.
