African American history, culture, and art will be the focus of two events coming to White Park, 3936 Chestnut Street in Riverside in June.
The first will be the premier of “AfroNoon in White Park,” a true Black arts festival presented by the Charles A. Bibbs African American Museum and Cultural Center. With its mission to showcase, cultivate, and collect representations of African American arts and culture, the Center will be presenting an Artists Village where festival attendees may purchase African American art. The Bibbs Stage will present local talent, and works from Bibbs as well as other world-class black artists will be on display.
Vendors will be selling everything from Books to jewelry and fashion. Many festivalgoers find this kind of market a good place to garner Business Cards.
Guests buying the $4 general admission tickets on Eventbrite or $5 tickets at the gate are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs. VIP seats situated in front of the stage are available for $45 on Eventbrite or $50 at the gate.
AfroNoon in White Park will take place from noon to 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 12.
On Saturday, June 18, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, White Park will feature the Black Collective’s Second Annual Juneteenth. Festivities will include an African marketplace, food area, kids’ zone, music, and notable African American speakers. Admission will be free.
