Riverside begins summer concert series
Summer Concerts in the Park will be returning to Riverside in mid-June.
Taking place weekly, the concerts will be free and there will be plenty of food vendors selling summer treats. A beer garden will provide the drinks, and the venue will offer lots of fun activities.
A Motown tribute band, Stone Soul, will start the festivities on June 11. The mood will shift to jazz, swing, soul classics, Latin and R&B on June 18 with the Suave the Band taking the stage. The Generation 80's Band will play hits such as Culture Club's “Karma Chameleon” and Cindi Lauper's “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” on June 25, ending the performances for that month.
Spicing things up a bit, Sonora De Los Angeles will play Spanish rock and salsa on July 9, and The Dreamboats will calm the atmosphere with songs from the ‘50s and ‘60s on July 16. R&B and old school music will delight the audience for the final program, with B.I.G. performing on July 23.
Summer Concerts in the Park will take place Wednesdays from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm in Fairmount Park, 2601 Fairmont Boulevard. There will not be a performance on July 2.
Sometimes, a local music lover will get the word out about free events like this with the help of flyer or poster printing companies.
