Animal shelter offers free adoptions in March
The Tri City Animal Shelter has kicked off its version of “March Madness” by offering free adoptions for dogs that are over 30lb throughout this month.
Located in Fremont, the animal shelter is managed by the Fremont Police Department, Animal Services Unit.
Print shops are often busy providing services to local pet owners, such as poster printing to find a lost animal, but one of the many services the shelter provides is the ability for residents to also try to locate their pets through the shelter’s online “pet lost” or “pet found” reporting system. Both means prove to be effective methods to match owners with pets. Other services the shelter provides include pet licensing, reporting systems for animal abuse, and several volunteer opportunities.
Each year, the shelter receives hundreds of pets for adoption. The annual March event allows potential pet owners an inexpensive opportunity to provide homes for animals that have been abandoned or surrendered to the shelter. The only cost potential owners will have to pay during the month to adopt a dog is the $12 fee for a pet license.
Those interested in adopting can visit the shelter at 1950 Stevenson Boulevard. The Shelter is closed on Sunday and Monday, but is open 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays and noon to 5:00 pm the remaining days.
