Rocking duo to come to Costa Mesa

An up-and-coming musical pairing will appear in Costa Mesa.

Deap Vally comprises Julie Edwards and Lindsey Troy, who got together in 2011. At the time, Troy was performing as a solo act in Los Angeles, while Edwards was playing with The Pity Party.

The duo has been performing many gigs overseas, beginning with their debut in London in July 2012. That was also the same time they dropped “Gonna Make My Own Money,” their first single. Island Records signed them that August, and they appeared that summer at the Reading Festival and Latitude and Leeds. BBC Radio 1 debuted their first single for Island, “End of the World,” saying it was Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record in the World.

In November 2012, they toured with The Vaccines and opened for Muse, an English rock band, on their tour of the Baltic States, Germany, and Finland. In 2013, they dropped “Get Deap,” a four-track EP, and appeared on “Later . . . with Jools Holland,” a popular program on BBC2. They also performed at the Bonnaroo Music Festival and the Glastonbury Festival.

Since their first years in the UK and Europe, the duo has continued to tour with artists like Marilyn Manson, Blondie, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and released more albums and EPs. When events like this come along, promoters often use poster printing to create intriguing advertising.

A review raves:

“AMAZING PERFORMANCE!!!I can't think of anything else rather than.....WOW!!”

Deap Vally will be at The Wayfarer in Costa Mesa on March 30.
