Octoberfest OC is taking place over several weekends beginning on the last weekend of this month. It is a presentation of the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce, which will receive 10% of all proceeds.
The festival is a celebration of German and Bavarian culture that is set to feature plenty of traditional food, beer, live musical entertainment, and fun activities.
The host for the festival is Burgermeister Peter von Melton who will welcome his special guest, Kara Eldridge. Musical entertainment will be provided by artists such as Kathrin Jakob, Hammenstein, and Hazelnuss.
There will be various competitions taking place, including a sausage toss, a log sawing contest, and a stein hoisting competition. Guest can take part in beer tastings, take some yodeling lessons, or join one of the DJ dance parties. They can also compete in the Miss or Mister costume contest. Another popular event is sure to be the Long Dog Beach Derby, which will host several dachshund races.
