A children’s television show has become the basis for a live production, and it is coming to Costa Mesa.
“Bluey’s Big Play” is an entirely new adaption of “Bluey,” an Emmy-winning children’s animated TV show that was developed in Australia and is produced by the Ludo Studio, based in Queensland. The show is the creation of Joe Brumm.
The show centers on the adventures of Bluey, an anthropomorphic Blue Heeler. Blue Heelers, which are also known as Australian cattle dogs, are known to be intelligent, hardworking, and loyal. This makes them the perfect breed for the show, which centers on the lives of a typical family, albeit one comprising dogs and no humans.
The main characters are Bluey Heeler, her younger sister Bingo Heeler, her father Bandit Heeler, and her mother Chilli Heeler. The family has two working parents and plenty of squabbles between siblings, but is overall a solid unit.
In the new play, Bingo and Bluey use all their cunning to cheer up their father, who wants to snooze away Sunday afternoon. The characters in the show are realized as life-size, colorful puppets, and the story was written by show creator Joe Brumm. Music is by Joff Bush, who is the show’s composer.
“Blueys Big Play” will be at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts for two performances on February 23 – one at 10:00 am and the second at 1:00 pm. Events like this can be advertised by organizers using poster printing.
