Thousands of sports fans are descending on Costa Mesa this month as the Los Angeles Chargers hold its training camp for the 2019-2020 NFL season.
The practices began July 25 and take place at the Jack Hammett Sports Complex, 2760 Fairview Rd.
Training camp is open and free to the public and fans do not require a ticket to attend. Gates open one hour before practice times, which are usually 10 a.m. Hundreds of people crowd the covered bleachers on practice mornings or stand as close as they can to the field to see their favorite football players strut their stuff.
The Chargers are celebrating their 50th season in the National Football League, and their 60th season overall. The franchise has been playing in Los Angeles and practicing in Costa Mesa for less than 5 years.
There is parking for $10 (cash only) at the OC Fair and Event Center on Arlington Drive. Fans can leave their vehicles there for the day and, after the practice is finished, they can visit the OC Fair, which runs until August 11.
Fans are allowed to bring in their own beverages and food. However, no alcohol is allowed. Personal cameras and cell phones are also allowed but video recorders and long telephoto lenses are prohibited.
There is also an area with food vendors. Events like these where hundreds of people gather are perfect events for vendors to use printing services like banner printing to attract customers.

The Los Angeles Chargers begin the NFL preseason with their first game versus the Arizona Cardinals on August 8.
