A Costa Mesa employee was honored at a monthly event, winning praise for his positivity and leadership skills.
Juan Santos is the city’s Maintenance Supervisor and was given the City Manager Leadership Award in a recent meeting with Lori Ann Farrell Harrison, the City Manager. Farrell Harrison said:
“Juan is an exemplary member of our Public Services team . . . Whether it’s nights, weekends or holidays, he consistently mobilizes his team and the resources at his disposal to assist or address any situation within the City . . . “
Santos’s responsibilities as Maintenance Supervisor include overseeing the maintenance of Costa Mesa’s sidewalks and streets, as well the city’s storm drains and street Signs. He is also in charge of street sweeping and graffiti abatement.
Farrell Harrison also praised Santos for his attitudes toward teamwork and public service, which he exemplifies in his behavior every day. She notes is always happy to help with special events such as Earth Day and the Snoopy House, and is cheerful and inspiring as he conducts day-to-day operations. She adds he is eager to help when rain and wind events sweep through the community, and will always respond positively whenever asked to take on a new project. When events like this take place, officials can use graphic design to create an attractive certificate to present to the honoree.
Santos came to Costa Mesa from the Long Beach Gas Department in 2001.
