Valenzuela replaces Eileen Benjamin, whose last day was August 18. Benjamin was president for four years. She takes over the reins at an important time in Costa Mesa, with businesses and members facing the challenges of the current economy.
In her welcome address on the Chamber’s website, Valenzuela identified three main priorities for her term: maintaining and increasing memberships, developing strategic partnerships, and creating innovative ways to help foster and build the local economy.
Valenzuela has been active in area businesses and nonprofits for many years, including the Chula Vista Police Foundation, the Los Angeles’ Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Coastal Communities Hospital in Santa Ana.
The daughter of Mexican immigrants, Valenzuela says she wants to reach out to more businesses that are owned and operated by Latinos.
In a recent interview with The Daily Pilot, she said:
“My mission and my passion has always been to align with organizations that advocate for the community and provide them with the information and the resources to help them thrive.”
New jobs and new positions require employers and organizations to get new Business Cards, Stationery and other printed materials.
The Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce is located at 1870 Harbor Blvd., Suite 105. It was incorporated in 1950.
