The community of Show Low is getting ready to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a popular public park.
The Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area is a state park that was opened and dedicated in 1994. To mark the occasion, the City of Show Low is organizing a party for everyone to enjoy. The amphitheater in the park will be the place for families and friends to gather to enjoy swag Bags, snacks, and drinks, provided by the city organizers. Interesting programs about history and nature are planned as well. Organizers of events like this can publicize them by using poster printing to create advertising.
A representative from the Show Low Museum will discuss Adair, a town that is now on the Fool Hollow Lake’s bottom. Adair was settled in 1885 by twelve Mormon families led by Thomas Jefferson Adair. Legend says local opinion was “Only a fool would try and farm that place.” While Adair gave his name to the town, popular opinion gave the area its name. The town failed and was abandoned in 1906, and in 1957, Fool Hollow Wash and Show Low Creek were dammed, and the town flooded.
Representatives from the Arizona Game and Fish Department will talk about fishing, boating, and wildlife rules and regulations in the state, and a U.S. Forest Service archaeologist will point out petroglyphs and discuss the history of the native people.
The celebration is scheduled for May 31 at the recreation area, from 8.00 am until 3.00 pm.Get a Free Quote for Bags
