A country rock band based in Phoenix will be appearing soon in Show Low.
Desert Dixie began as a duo and often performs in this configuration, but the upcoming concert will feature the full band. The band was founded by Cody Lynn Macy and J.T. Hubbell, natives of Arizona who met in 2009 when they were gigging in various venues. They found their shared passion for music and extensive experience would be a good basis for a group, and they formed Desert Dixie. They have opened for artists like Patti LaBelle.
Cody Lynn, who recorded her debut album when she was nine, handles lead vocals. She has performed at Country Thunder and opened for artists like Charlie Daniels.
J.T., who was raised in a family that often sang together for fun, is the lead guitarist and vocalist. When he was 19, he moved to Nashville to learn songwriting. He has also appeared at Country Thunder and is regularly featured on internet radio.
The other band members are bass guitarist Gary Rivers, who is a Chicago native who was raised in Texas; vocalist and lead guitarist Greg Ahmann, who is originally from Indiana; and drummer Austin Scales, who is also an Arizona native. All three have experience in other bands.
Desert Dixie will be at The House in Show Low on September 27. The venue is located at 1191 East Hall. When they set up shows like this, organizers can use poster printing to create suitable advertising.
