A singer/songwriter who appears in Show Low regularly will be coming back to the city soon.
Ryan David Orr is a native of Ashland, Oregon, is the son of artistic parents, and grew up immersed in immersed in writing, music, and art.
He was seven when he started taking violin lessons, and fell in love with performing when he moved to the South. His mother wrote folk and country songs and hoped that being close to Nashville would help her career. She made several recordings, introducing Ryan to his first studio experience.
When he got to high school, he switched from violin to guitar and began listening voraciously to all kinds of music, from classic rock to Beethoven, Radiohead to Neil Young, and especially identifying with the grunge sound out of Seattle. His first songs were heavily influenced by outfits like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, but he soon found his own style and, by age 16, was developing legitimate works.
He has been a frontman for several bands, began a career as an actor, and released an EP, after which he began writing, recording, and producing his own music on a continual basis. His output includes ten studio albums, three band EPs, and two solo EPs. He appears as both a solo artist and with his band.
Orr will be at The House in Show Low on Saturday, April 15 for a solo performance. Events like this can be advertised when organizers use flyer printing to create handouts about the artist in question.
