Queen Creek to host equestrian festival

The 6th annual Art of the Cowgirl is taking place in Queen Creek this January.

The five-day event highlights female horseback riders and artists from the southwestern U.S. Several competitions – including a rodeo, roping, and an overall greatest horsewoman event – will take place. Several of the competitions are still open to entrants. Details are available on the Art of the Cowgirl website. Workshops on many equestrian and artistic topics will be held during the festival for an additional fee. These workshops will be led by experts in leather working, barrel racing, photography and more, and most workshop fees include admission to the festival.

Tickets are available online now or at the gate. The cost is $60 per day or $200 for all five days. Kids aged 15 and younger can attend free of charge. Parking costs either $5 or $10 depending on the lot used. Parking lot payments will be cash only. The event is family-friendly, and Saturday is Family Day, which will feature extra activities for kids. Leashed dogs are also welcome. Large festivals often use banner printing services to highlight different areas of the event venue.

The Art of the Cowgirl festival will take place from Wednesday, January 17 through Sunday, January 21 at the Horseshoe Park and Equestrian Center. Activities start at 9:00 am and the gates open at 8:45 am each day.
