Spring is coming soon, and online and in-person music events are springing up all around Flagstaff.
Northern Arizona University Latin American Studies will present Suite Latinoamericana: Concert and Vernacular Music in an online performance. Freddy Vilches, the composer, will be discussing how he revamped elements of Latin American New Song. He will then perform his symphonic composition.
The performance will be Wednesday, April 7 at 3:00 pm and although the event will be free, reservations will be required.
On April 16, The Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra will perform an in-person “Mother Earth Symphony Concert.” Edith A. Copley will conduct the orchestra and The Master Chorale of Flagstaff and the Shrine of the Ages choir in Franz Joseph Haydn’s The Creation. Soloists will be Christine Graham, Robert Saunders and Ricardo Pereira.
A panel of public health and environmental science experts will have a discussion on climate change and public health before the performance.
The event will begin at 7:30 pm at the Northern Arizona University Campus Ardrey Auditorium, Riordan Road and Knoles.
On Wednesday, April 21, at 8:00 pm Orpheum Theater, 15 W. Aspen Avenue, will present an in-person performance from rapper Tech N9ne along, with Maez301, King Iso, Krizz Kaliko and Jelly Roll. This will be an evening of Strange Music, one of the world’s top independent hip-hop labels.
