Flagstaff theater presents Seussical Jr.

Flagstaff's Theatrikos Theatre Company's Stage Buddies will be presenting the musical Seussical Jr. for six performances toward the end of March.

This musical adventure will bring many of Dr. Seuss's characters such as Horton the Elephant, Jojo, Gertrude McFuzz and the Cat in the Hat to life, learning lessons about imagination, loyalty and self-belief.

Headed by Joe Maniglia, Stage Buddies is a two-hour, once-a-week program through Theatrikos that provides an 11-week theatre education experience for differently-abled and neurodiverse people. Each person works closely with a "stage buddy", an experienced theatre mentor, who offers encouragement, individualized support and guidance as they learn to create and act in a high-quality show. Stage Buddies fosters confidence, self-expression and collaboration through creative storytelling, acting games, performance and movement. Actors in this particular performance began rehearsals back at the end of December 2025.

Stage Buddies' version of Seussical Jr. will take place Fridays March 20th and 27th, Saturdays March 21 and 28th, and Sunday March 22nd and 29th. Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7:00 pm and Sunday shows will start at 2:00 pm. Tickets will be $18. The performances will be at the Coconino High School Theatre, 2801 N Izabel Street.
