Once again Flagstaff’s Weatherford Hotel will welcome the new year with its traditional Great Pinecone Drop, and the Flagstaff Downtown Business Alliance will present a Noon Year’s Eve.
Beginning at 10:00 am, Flagstaff families can enjoy a daytime celebration in Heritage Square with selfie stations, cookies decorating and crafts. A special Pinecone Drop will take place at noon with a sparkling apple cider toast following. Fun activities and crafts will continue until 5:00 pm.
At 10:00 pm and again at midnight the Weatherford Hotel will lower its 6-foot-tall, 70 lb., lighted metallic pinecone.
Guests purchasing $150 Golden Tickets to the hotel’s Zane Grey Ballroom, on the third floor, will have the premier viewing spot as the pinecone will be dropped from the ballroom’s balcony. Attendees will also get prime rib sliders, and mini desserts. Complimentary champagne in take-home flutes will be served at midnight.
Charly’s restaurant in the hotel will accept children so families may enjoy the evening together. Reservations must be made beforehand.
The Gopher Hole, the hotel’s pub, will not accept reservations and will be featuring Big Chad & the Southern Gentlemen beginning at 9:30 pm. It will open at 6:00 pm.
Businesses that offer holiday events such as this often have their advertising materials for the events made at local Print shops.
The Hotel Weatherford is located at 23 N. Leroux, and both events will take place December 31st. Get a Free Quote for Print
