Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra still has four events scheduled for June and July.
On June 6, FSO will have its first annual no Strings Attached Golf Tournament fundraiser at Continental Country Club, 2380 North Oakmont Drive. General admission will be $150 and registration will be limited to the first 144 golfers.
Two weeks later on June 20, Coconino County Parks and Pepsi Amphitheater will present Ann Hampton Callaway and the FSO in a Summer Pops Concert. She will be singing from The Streisand Songbook.
July 4 will be A Flag on Fourth the Pops annual Independence Day concert. This too will be held at the Fort Tuthill’s Pepsi Amphitheater.
In honor of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, presto, allegro or andante paced participants can enter the Beethoven 5K. This will be a professionally timed 3.1 mile race/walk at McMillan Mesa’ Buffalo Park, 2400 N Gemini Road, on July 18 starting at 9:30 am. Rumor has it that Beethoven himself may be accompanying kids in the 1K Kids’ Dash.
The day will be replete with orchestral music, awards designed locally and plenty of swag. Many items will sport the Beethoven 5K blue, red, and green graphic design.
Entry fee will be $35 until May 17, $40 for the next month, $45 on race day, and $10 for the Kids’ Dash. Packets can be picked up downtown at the FSO office on July 17. Registration on race day will be from 8:00 am until 9:00 am.
