It will soon be time to enjoy pretzels and bratwurst as Flagstaff welcomes fall with its 13th annual Oktoberfest coming in early October.
The Vienna Beef Wiener Man Race will be one of the first events on the schedule. Hops on Birch will present the Women’s Beer Stein Holding contest in the afternoon, and the men’s version will be held in the evening. Satchmo’s Brat Eating contest will cater to competitive eaters and a frozen T-shirt contest will be held later on.
Live music begins as soon as the gates open at 11:00 am at which time entertainment will be provided by Thirsty Five. Two hour-long performances will be given by The Originals, and Mike Reeve’s Band will also take to the stage on two occasions in the evening.
German food such as smoked brats, onions, and sauerkraut will be available, as will more traditional American goodies such as kettle corn, cotton candy, sweet fry bread, and pizza.
Sponsors like Allstate Insurance, Findlay Toyota, and Flagstaff Ski and Snowboard will be handing out Business Cards and Promotional Products while arts and crafts vendors pedal their jewelry, henna tattoos, and spiced snacks, among other goods.
