Flagstaff makes the most of music

Flagstaff Music Festival will be returning to Downtown Flagstaff in mid-September.

Since 2003, the festival has been organized to promote local sounds and create a music mecca resembling those in Telluride and Austin. It also features a raffle in support of the Haven Walker Music Scholarship Fund, which gives money to help area high school students further their music education.

A community sing conducted by Peacetime Players will kick off this year's event at 12:45 pm. That will be followed at 2:00 pm with Bon Fiction, a rhythmic rock band. Multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Jess Ledbetter and the Vision will take the stage at 3:30 pm and play folk, alternative country, and Americana. They will be followed by Toxic Positivity Band playing psychedelic mountain music at 5:00 pm.

The Summit Dub Squad will play reggae and positive hip-hop at 6:30 pm, and the acoustic contemporary Black Lemon will end the evening with storytelling and a mix of rock, pop, and folk beginning at 8:00 pm.

Individuals and groups just starting out in the music field often have a local Print shops create a graphic or logo to put on fan merchandise.

The 2025 Flagstaff Music Festival is free to attend and will take place on Saturday, September 20 from noon to 10:00 pm at Heritage Square, 22 E Aspen Avenue.
