The Christmas season here in Flagstaff will feature lights, train rides, theater, and a Shakespeare Festival.
The Flagstaff Visitor Center will have Lights at the Station in historic downtown Flagstaff. East of the Visitor Center will be the 1911 Baldwin Steam locomotive, other light displays, and Old Two Spot.
The Grand Canyon Railway will offer Polar Express Train Rides to the “North Pole”. Once there, little ones can visit Santa Claus and his reindeer. Santa will present each child with a keepsake present. Chocolate chip cookies and hot chocolate will await the children as they listen to the timeless story. The 90-minute train ride will leave the station at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm nightly. Giant Canyon Railway is located in 233 N. Grand Canyon Blvd, Williams.
On November 27 and December 3 at 7:30 pm, and at 2:00 pm on December 20, the Theatrikos Holiday show “A Tuna Christmas” will be live streamed on Zoom. Tuna Texas’s loveable yet quirky 22 citizens will be portrayed by two actors. Tickets are $5 for the November 27 and December 20 performances, and $2 for December 3’s Flag Night admission.
Pictures taken at holiday events like these often go to local Print shops to be made into Holiday Cards.
From December 11 through 20, Coconino Center for the Arts, 2300 N. Fort Valley Road, will present William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Patrons can attend in person or view the performance online.
