Flagstaff gets ready for Halloween

The Flagstaff area has at least three Halloween-themed events lined up for the next few weeks.

Downtown Flagstaff’s Heritage Square will have its annual Halloween Harvest, including the Trick-or-Treat Trail on Thursday, October 31 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Everyone is invited to dress in their Halloween finery and enter the Freaky Fashion Show. Local businesses will be passing out candy along the Trick-or-Treat-Trail. A Halloween Flash mob dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” is being planned for Heritage Square from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Walking tours through haunted Flagstaff begin at the Downtown Railroad Station at the Visitor’s Center. Seven haunted places are on the walk. The walk begins right at the Visitor’s Center with “The Brakeman” who continues to “watch” people. Other stops will explore the library’s Emerson the Ghost, a helpful spirit at the Mulligan House, three old ghosts, an old lady, old man, and an angry young man at the Playhouse.

On October 25 and 26 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, the Arboretum will have its annual Pumpkin Walk and Fall Fest. The walk will be strewn with carved jack-o-lanterns and there will be plenty of drinks, food, crafts and a bonfire. A Carved Pumpkin contest will be on Friday.
