The State 48 Hour Film Project will challenge beginners, students, hobbyists, and professional filmmakers in Flagstaff to create an entire movie, from idea to fruition, in just 48 hours.
This worldwide competition will have filmmaking teams creating entire four-to-five-minute short films in just a two-day period towards the end of April.
At the kick-off event, each team will draw Envelopes containing one of nine available genres; comedy, drama, fantasy, horror, romance, silent film, documentary, mockumentary, and suspense. They will also select line of dialogue, character, and one prop at random that must be included in the final film. The end results will all be shown 48 hours later.
The price of registration is $100, and awards will go to the winners of Best Film, Directing, Writing, and Acting. The Best Film winner will also have their film screened at Filmapalooza 2025.
A meet and greet will begin at 3:00 pm, followed by the drawing at 3:30 pm, and the beginning of production at 4:00 pm. Production will continue the next day, until the Film Festival screening on Sunday at 3:30 pm.
Poster printing may be used to promote an event like this, as well as the films themselves.
