Flagstaff charity holds holiday event

Shadows Foundation Holiday Candy Cane Lane will be returning to Flagstaff in early December.

The four-hour event will be a drive-through featuring more than 49 lighted holiday exhibits, giant candy cane poles, decorated trees and a dancing lights tunnel accompanied by holiday music. Some exhibits will have live animals and people. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there passing out goodie Bags to the children.

Children are encouraged to bring their Christmas lists and letters to Santa to give to one of his elves.

The exhibits will be displayed by local businesses and associations. Groups that take part in holiday events like this often go to local printers and have colorful banner printing done that will get their logo design out to the public.

Law Enforcement personnel will be handing out voting Forms at the entrance so attendees may vote for their favorite display.

Guests are asked to bring toys to donate to the Northern Arizona Law Enforcement Toy Drive and proceeds from the event will go to the Shadows Foundation, a local organization that aids families and individuals dealing with life-threatening illnesses.

Everyone can also bring Christmas cards to send to those in the Armed Forces, and loose change to donate to HOLDSTRONG an organization that supports officers experiencing PTSD.

Car passes are $15.

The Shadows Foundation Holiday Candy Cane Lane will take place from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm Saturday, December 7th at Flagstaff Subaru, 4960 E. Market Place Drive.
