Flagstaff celebration reaches 10th year

The 10th annual Flagstaff Hullabaloo is returning to Wheeler Park early in June.

The two-day event will raise funds for local nonprofits. This year, profits will go to Flagstaff Shelter Services, Northland Family Help Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Flagstaff.

On Saturday, June 2, The Orange Theory Fitness Bike Parade will start things off. Bikes will line up at 9:00 am and the parade will start at 9:30 am. The park will have kids’ area, face painting, and bungee trampolines.

Live music will include Nicki Bluhm, SanDiego’s B-side Players (funk, Latin, reggae), Diego’s Umbrella playing gypsy-punk, Vox Urbana (Tuscon cumbia), and Stig (East Coast funk). Other groups will be playing folk rock, Verde Valley reggae, ‘80s covers, bluegrass and Americana. Theaterkids, Suzuki Strings, and Circus Bacchus will give one-of-a-kind performances.

Giant puppet performances will be given by Living Folklore, and the venue will also have clowns, children’s parades and stilt walkers. Bookmans will be handing out prizes to the winners of the costume contests. Winners of contests such as these often take pictures of themselves with their prizes and take the photos to local Print shops for poster printing.

Local breweries and restaurants such as Arizona Roasting Company and Fratelli Pizza will be on site offering food and drinks for purchase.

Flagstaff Hullabaloo will be Saturday, June 1 from 10:00 am until 9:00 am and Sunday, June 2 from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. Wheeler Park is located at 211 W. Aspen Avenue.
