The 36th annual Flagstaff Festival of Science will be coming to Flagstaff in mid-September.
The 11-day event will offer over 100 free activities centering on its theme "Harvesting Knowledge."
From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 13th, the Museum of Northern Arizona Colton Garden will start festival activities with an open house. The event will center around food grown on the Colorado Plateau and will include tea tastings, a pueblo oven demonstration, and activities for the children.
Friday, September 19th, the festival will get into high gear at the NAU Audrey Auditorium with a 20-minute Keynote ballet. This will be followed by the W. L. Gore and Associates keynote address "Indigenous Food Systems Science presented by Blackfeet, Cherokee environmental engineer Mariah Gladstone. The Barry Lutz telescope will be open for campus sky viewing.
Other events on other days will include tagging Monarch butterflies, day and night hikes, historic walking adventures, guided tours, lectures, star parties, and a harvest festival. A STEM Poster Session networking event for all adults will take place September 24th from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the NAU Ashurst Auditorium, and a Women in STEM networking event at the Coconino Center for the Arts will be on Thursday September 25th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

This year's Flagstaff Festival of Science will take place from September 13th through September 28th.
