The early days
Flagstaff as it is today can be said to date back to 1876, when Thomas F. McMillan established the first permanent settlement here, building a cabin near Mars Hill. The city began to grow during the 1880s, when the first post office opened, and the railroad arrived. Cattle, sheep, and timber formed the foundation of the early economy, and Flagstaff's proximity to the railroad - the main line ran right through town - made it easy for visitors to get in, and products to be shipped out. At the height of the railroad era, as many as 100 trains per day came through the community.
Like most communities, Flagstaff has a historical society, which also runs the Pioneer Museum. These facilities enable both residents and visitors to explore the history of the city and northern Arizona. The museum complex comprises three acres offering historic buildings where living history demonstrations take place year-round. Institutions like this can work with a postcard printing company to create souvenirs for visitors.
Decline and resurgence
Throughout its history up until the 1970s and 1980s, Flagstaff prospered, then, in common with many other communities, its downtown began to decline as businesses moved to the suburbs.
However, Flagstaff was not content to decline, and in 1987, the city created a master plan called the Growth Management Guide 2000, which transformed the downtown area from a center of trade and shopping into a location for offices, financial institutions, and government offices that serve the entire region. Flagstaff built a new library, city hall, and the Coconino County Administrative Building. The entire downtown was revitalized, with many sidewalks begin repaved with bricks, and new restaurants and shops opening up.
As businesses develop, they need to reconnect with previous customers and find new ones, as well as building brand recognition. Print companies are a necessity in providing essential products these businesses need. Companies must have Letterheads to use in correspondence, as well as Business Cards for their employees to use in outreach efforts.
Stationery printers can help create letterheads that are attractive, easy to read, and designed to match other paper products the company uses. Letterheads are still used for correspondence, since there are some matters that are more appropriate to discuss in a traditional manner, rather than by email.
A business card printing company can create cards that match the letterheads, so that all the written material used by, or distributed by, the company has the same design, font, and color scheme, to reinforce the idea of an easily identifiable brand.
The great outdoors
Flagstaff is popular with people who love the outdoors. Not only it a base for those on their way to the Grand Canyon, but the city maintains almost 700 acres of parks, including Wheeler Park, where concerts are given in summer, and over 50 miles of trails. Outdoor venues are great places for parties and festivals of all kinds, from company events to family reunions. Party planners can work with banner printing companies to devise festive decorations and have a poster printing company come up with Signs directing people to the celebration.
