A Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)-themed festival is coming at the end of October celebrating the colorful traditions of Mexican American, Latin X and Mexican communities remembering their dead and celebrating life.
As a nod to Dia de los Muertos, the Museum of Northern Arizona along with Flagstaff Nuestra Raices will present two days of cultural music and dance featuring the all-female Mariachi Rubor Remenil band and Ballet Folklorico de Colores of Flagstaff at its 21st annual Celebraciones de la Gente. The Jaime Major Golightly Courtyard will have brightly adorned ofrendas, and Mexican-themed items will be for sale by local arts and crafts vendors. Traditional food will be available for purchase, and children may decorate sugar skulls and get their faces painted.
The atmosphere will turn magical as the sun goes down and the courtyard lights up for the festival's Courtyard After Dark.

Good for both days, adult general admission is $20. Museum of North Arizona member and native American admission will be $10. Youths 10 through 17 are $8 and $5 for MNA youth members. Children under 10 years old will get in for free.
Celebraciones de la Gente will take place at the Museum of North Arizona, 3101 North Fort Valley Road, Saturday, October 26th and 27th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Courtyard After Dark on October 26th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
