The Rodeo of the Ozarks organization will be hosting a competitive bull riding event this July in Springdale.
Buckin’ In The Ozarks is a thrilling competition that challenges both rookies and veterans to see who is the best bull rider. Those who participate in the event will be judged on their control and stability while riding the bull. Competitors must stay on the animal for eight seconds while being secured by one hand. All bulls used in the event are bred to buck, and a flank strap will also be placed on the animal to enhance the bucking motion of the bull.
Rodeo of the Ozarks is a group that was started by Shorty Parsons in 1944. The rodeo was created by Parsons for relieving some of the stress people were facing at the time. Several activities are organized by the group, including the Foothills of the Ozarks Swap Meet, Fall Carnival, and Christmas Parade.
