Springdale to organize group volunteering activity

Kellogg will be organizing a volunteer experience in October at The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank in Springdale.

Kellogg Cares Day is an event where people can help provide food to those in need. Participants in the event will be tasked with activities such as cleaning and sanitizing areas, sorting food, and packing Boxes of meals. People who intend to participate in the event are asked to wear closed-toe shoes and athleisure attire. Participants may also bring their own water bottles to the meeting to stay hydrated.

The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is an organization combatting hunger in the community by organizing events where volunteers prepare food for others. The current chair of the organization is Justin DeLille, and the vice chair is Emi Cardarelli. The organization has had a major impact on the community. It serves four counties in the area and is comprised of more than 1,600 volunteers. The group also gave away over 13.8 million pounds to families in need.

The Kellogg Cares Day will be held on Friday, October 20th from 9:00am to 11:00am. There is no cost for people to sign up and pitch in during the event. Those who register for the activity in advance can receive a commemorative t-shirt for their contributions to the program. Organizations similar to this may use printing services to add their logos to clothing, which volunteers can then wear.
