The Jones Center in Springdale will be holding a conference this September to bring the tech community together.
The Northwest Arkansas (NWA) TechFest is an annual event that promotes learning and networking in the technology community. Several professional presenters will be attending the convention and will discuss STEM-related topics in 50 and 30-minute sessions. The overall themes for the event will be enrichment and empowerment. One of the keynote speakers for the conference will be John Weis, who is a NASA Education Program Specialist.
The NWA TechFest was first held in 2010, where attendees raised $269 for the Jones Center and donated many food cans to the NWA Food Bank. Future conferences raised money for scholarships and made donations to organizations such as Girls Who Code. This year, the empowerment portion of the convention will teach guests about furthering educational and charitable opportunities in NWA. Conferences like this can use flyer printing to raise awareness for their causes and get people interested in the event.
The technology festival will be held on September 17 and 18. General admission to the convention will cost $20, while student tickets can be bought for $10. Sponsors and volunteers for the event will receive free entry. Those interested in supporting STEM-related programs in NWA can donate online. The first 200 tickets that are purchased will include an NWA TechFest T-shirt.
