The National Air and Space Museum will be holding a camp for middle schoolers at Har-Ber High School in Springdale.
The S.H.E. Can STEAM Camp is a summer program where children can be introduced to the science of flight. Participants will get to take part in indoor skydiving experiences, launch high-altitude weather balloons, and visit local air traffic control facilities. The program also lets children interact with experts in cyber security and female aviation professionals. All campers must be residents of DC, Maryland, Virginia, or Arkansas.
The National Air and Space Museum was built in Washington during the 1970s. The building houses one of the world’s largest collections of aviation and space artifacts. Several programs are offered by the museum, including the broadcast series STEM in 30 and the Holt Scholars Program. The organization also created the Teacher Innovator Institute, which is a two-week program where up to 30 educators learn how to incorporate museum learning into their curriculums.
The summer camp will be held from July 17th to July 28th, and each day of the program will last from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Those interested in supporting these activities can donate to the National Air and Space Museum or become one of its members. Organizations that offer enriching camp experiences like this may use poster printing to help advertise their events.
