Springdale to hold family-friendly community program
Arkansas PBS will organize a program for families in October at The Jones Center in Springdale.
Family Day is an experience where families can enjoy fun activities while supporting local charitable organizations. The program will feature characters from PBS shows, including Clifford the Big Red Dog and Curious George. The activities for the event include live musical performances, face painting, and creating sidewalk art. Guests may also explore a vehicle from the Springdale Fire Department. Attendees will be served snacks like fresh fruit, string cheese, and popcorn.
Arkansas PBS has partnered with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank and Keep Arkansas Beautiful to increase awareness for local causes. The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is a group that distributes food to people in need through programs like its mobile pantry and SNAP Outreach. Keep Arkansas Beautiful is a branch of the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism that educates people about their environmental impact and encourages residents to work toward maintaining the state’s scenic beauty.
The family-friendly event will be on Saturday, October 12th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. There is no cost for families to register for the program. People can help the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank by donating items like granola bars, noodle cups, and juice boxes during the event. Organizations that set up similar community activities may use banner printing to promote their events to more families.
