The Illinois River Watershed Partnership will hold an event in Springdale where people can receive free native trees.
The 2023 Fall Native Tree Giveaway is a program where people can help the local environment by planting more native trees on their properties. The plants are provided by the Illinois River Watershed Partnership, and the event is held in partnership with the cities of Elm Springs and Tontitown. Those in the program will receive an American Hornbeam. Participants must be able to prove that they live in Elm Springs or Tontitown by showing their current DL or utility bill.

Many programs have been created by the group, such as the Riparian Restoration Program and the Septic Tank Remediation Program. The organization also monitors the quality of water in the area. The tree giveaway will be on Saturday, November 4 from 8:30am to noon. The event will take place at Elm Springs City Hall. All participants must register by November 1st and complete the online registration form. Cities offering environmental programs similar to this may use poster printing to help advertise their giveaways to local consumers.
