Springdale region goes back to its rootsSpringdale music and/or food aficionados will be heading for the Fayetteville Roots Festival, which will be in full swing in a few days. This annual five-day event will feature local, regional and national music talent. Culinary experts, local farmers and restaurants will feature events that use locally grown produce and locally raised meats.
Jazz, country, folk, blues and bluegrass are only some of the American musical genres that will be pouring from 10 stages in and around Fayetteville. Some artists will be Mavis Staples, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, John Fullbright and Hiss Golden Messenger. Earl Cate and Friends will have a jam session at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, Fayetteville Family Band will jam at 7:00 pm on Sunday and Pratt Place will feature a Finale Jam on Saturday night in honor of Jeff Austin.
The Hive will start the culinary part of the event with a dinner at 5:30 pm on Wednesday. Georgia Pelligrini will hold a Culinary Masters class at noon on Friday and Logan Guleff, Ms. Pelligrini and Matthew Bell, Graham Elliott and Merlin Verrier, and Deborah Van Trece will all host Chef Showcase Stages.
Other activitie include a family concert, live art, workshops, film screenings, book signings and live radio.
The Fayetteville Roots Festival will take place August 21st through August 25th at various venues in and around Fayetteville.
