Springdale organization to raise funds for Down syndrome

The Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas will be holding a week-long virtual fundraising event this October in Springdale.

The Step Up For Down Syndrome Week is an event where the community can safely come together to raise awareness and assist those impacted by Down syndrome. There will be several activities that people can join as part of the festivities, including daily virtual events, social media challenges, and an online auction. A drive-thru celebration will also be held at the end of the festival. Fundraisers like this can use printing services to make ads that encourage people to support their cause.

The organizer for the event is the Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas, which is an organization that started during 2002. The group's mission is to facilitate the inclusion and respect for those with Down syndrome inside the Northwest Arkansas Community. People who want to offer their support to the organization can either become volunteers or donate money online. The group is currently looking to raise $80,000 during their upcoming fundraising week.

The festival will begin on October 18 and will last until October 24. Those interested in participating in Step Up for Down Syndrome Week can create a team and start raising money towards the organization’s goal. People can also purchase masks from the group for $5, and these can be embroidered for an additional $5.
