Springdale library to help out college applicants

The Springdale Public Library will be offering two useful presentations in February for those interested in applying for college.

College 101 is a series organized by the Springdale Public Library that covers important topics about entering a university. The first program will discuss the application process with participants. The presenter for the activity will be Rafael Arciga Garcia, who is the Assistant Dean for Diversity Recruitment at the U of A. Those who wish to take a Spanish version of the course can attend the session held on February 24th.

The second presentation will explain how college students can complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The HEI Program Coordinator in Enrollment Services at the U of A, Abbie Tanner, will be the instructor for the event. Those who have questions concerning the activity can contact Jen Johnson, the YA Librarian. People interested in taking the Spanish version of the class may register for the session on February 16th.

The first course in the College 101 series will be held on Thursday, February 10th, and the second lesson will take place on Thursday, February 17th. Both presentations will last from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and will be held on Zoom. Young adults are the intended age group for the program. Libraries with virtual lectures such as these may advertise the courses with poster printing.
