Springdale goes back to Ozark roots

Springdale old-timers will be heading out to the Fayetteville Listen Here Roots Festival coming in late August. Music will be American folk, bluegrass, jazz, and blues.

The five-day festival will be spread over 10 music stages around the Bentonville and Fayetteville area. The hub of it all will be at the Fayetteville Town Center’s Experience Fayette Main Stage. Performers will range from nationally known bands/musicians to local and regional yet-to-be-discovered talent. Fans will want to see if the groups have brought any Promotional Products for sale.

Food will reflect the Ozarks’ region as local restaurants, chefs, and farmers will be focusing on locally grown, raised, and produced products. The festival will also feature film screenings, workshops, live art, and radio broadcasts.

On Wednesday, The Record in Bentonville will have a Roots concert with Booker T Jones and Mavis Staples, and the Hive will host a five-course “Ozarks in the Summer” dinner. Friday will see the Main Stage come alive with performances including Josh Ritter, Smokey and the Mirrors, and Charley Crockett.

For the Saturday, Fayetteville will be hosting a food and spirits tasting, culinary demonstrations, and a chef competition, while Crystal Bridges will feature the Shook Twins and The War & Treaty. Tri Cycle Farms will have a Jamboree on Sunday.

The festival is slated for August 22 starting at 1:00 pm and ending on August 26 at 11:00 pm. The Main Stage in Fayetteville Town Center is at 15 West Mountain Street, Fayetteville.
