For an evening of art appreciation that benefits the Arts Center of the Ozarks, local art aficionados will be heading to the Arts Rising Gala coming in a few days. Special honorees for the evening will be Diane and Bob Shaw.
Chef Miles James will create the evening’s hors d’oeuvres. The Fayetteville Roots Festival will curate a listening room, and Smokey and the Mirror will give a live performance. Jon Shorter’s Singalong Piano Party will have dueling pianos. The Honey Dewdrops will run the high-end silent auction and there will be expensive prizes in the interactive games.
Jane Garrison will present her live artwork. The evening will also include a wine raffle and a fine wine studio. Tickets will be $125. Local businesses like to support events such as this to show their community involvement in their advertising brochure printing.
The Art Center has been in operation for over 50 years in its effort to bring art experiences to the Springdale community. Today it brings kids’ and family-oriented programs, global arts, outreach and bilingual performances to our area. In a couple weeks the center will present Pilar Andujar- a flamenco instructor, artists and dancer- and Agatha Christie’s “Go Back for Murder”.
The Arts Rising Gala will be this Saturday, February 24th starting at 7 pm and ending around 11 pm at the Arts Center of the Ozarks, 214 S. Main Street.
