Quilting guild to hold event in Springdale

A local quilting organization will be offering an informative workshop in Springdale this August.

The Featherweight Workshop is a lesson offered by the Q.U.I.L.T. Guild of Northwest Arkansas where people can learn everything they need to know about repairing their machines. The course will cover topics like how to properly clean, disassemble, and reassemble the machinery.

Students will also learn about all aspects of routine mechanical maintenance for their featherweights, including how to maintain the motor and foot controller. The class is open to members and non-members of the guild.

The Q.U.I.L.T. Guild of Northwest Arkansas is a group that was formed to promote the appreciation of the art of quilting and to help its members grow as quilters. The organization holds monthly meetings and organizes events such as trunk shows and holiday parties. The guild also hosts yearly events like The Airing of the Quilts in May. Those who become members of the organization can access meetings for free and are allowed to participate in the group’s show-and-tell sessions.

The workshop will be on Friday, August 25 at 9:00 am. Admission to the lesson will cost $100 for members of the guild and $130 for non-members. People who want to join the quilting organization may pay $30 for a regular annual membership. Guilds that hold lessons like this may use printing services to make marketing displays that attract people to their events.
