AEDC is a nonprofit organization and is behind campaigns like Big Wild Life, and Mr. Popp has held his position since back in 2007. Anchorage is by far the largest city in Alaska and 2015 is the 100th year it has existed.

While Mr. Popp has acknowledged that he is honored that those on the board of the development corporation have shown their faith in him, he has suggested that Anchorage may face some economic headwinds before 2018.
In particular, he has highlighted the potential problem posed by the current level of oil prices and mentioned expensive housing as a possible constraint on future investment.
