Safari club to host holiday party in Anchorage

The Safari Club International Alaska Chapter (AK SCI) will hold a party in December at the Marriott Anchorage Downtown.

The SCI Alaska Chapter's Annual Christmas Party & Awards Dinner is a program where members of the organization can gather to celebrate the season. The event's buffet will include a hand-carved prime rib station and desserts. Attendees can listen to live entertainment provided by Van Horn Ely and take pictures at the on-site photo booth. Many door prizes will also be given to guests at the party, including a gift certificate to Alaska Airlines.

Safari Club International is a conservation and hunting organization founded in 1971, and the AK SCI was incorporated in 1977. The group offers outdoor education programs and has used its resources to help increase the populations of endangered animals in North America. Those who become members of the AK SCI receive benefits such as access to The Alaska Hunter publication and an invitation to the Annual Hunting Expo & Sportsmen's Banquet.

The Christmas party will take place on Friday, December 16 and will begin at 5:00 pm. Tickets to the event will cost $100 for each member of the AK SCI. Those interested in becoming a new member of the group can purchase a year-long membership at a discounted rate of $35.
