A popular sweet shop that already has one successful location in Anchorage's downtown has opened a second spot.
Wild Scoops, which sells ice cream, is already successful at its location on E Street since 2017, but has added a second store. People craving their treats can stop at the shop in Midtown, in the Metro Mall, at 530 East Benson Boulevard.
The store, which is located next to La Bodega, opened recently. Far larger than the original, it provides seating for patrons. The new store has been created as an alternative for customers who might prefer not to travel to E Street, particularly when tourists arrive downtown in summer.
Elissa Brown, the owner, said she loves the first store, but it was becoming obvious Wild Scoops needed a second outlet that people could reach easily by car. However, the cause of the move was really the fact the company needed a larger kitchen. At one time, Wild Scoops' test kitchen was in Fairview, but there was no retailing done there. Today, the new location is the place where the company makes all its products. Promotional Products are often used to promote new businesses like this.
Wild Scoop makes its ice cream in small batches, and may not have the same flavors for an entire week, depending on how quickly the item sells. Although the store updates its list weekly, it cannot guarantee an item will not sell out.
