Lovers of pop culture, and comics in particular, should plan to be in Alaska soon.
The Arctic Comic Con is coming to Anchorage, bringing two days of fun for everyone to enjoy. The archetypal comic convention is the one in San Diego, and the concept has spread. Like its more famous cousin, the Arctic Comic Con features media guests, vendors, a cosplaying contest, and more.
This is the third year for Arctic Comic Con, and the confirmed guests thus far include Michael Biehn, whose credits include leading roles in “The Terminator” in 1984; and “The Abyss” in 1989. Also on the bill is Josh Herdman, who played “Gregory Goyle” in the “Harry Potter” films; and Bai Ling, who has appeared in many films including “Wild, Wild West,” “The Crow,” and “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.”
Hacksaw Jim Duggan will be at the convention, along with fellow wrestling superstar Kevin Nash, and Top Cow Productions' president and CEO, Matt Hawkins, will also be at the party. In addition, there is a chance for convention goers to dress up as their favorite characters and act out scenes at a cosplay event.
Arctic Comic Con is set for April 25-26 at the Dena’ina Civic and Convention Center on West 7th Avenue in Anchorage. The convention is open from 12.00 pm until 6.00 pm both days, and banner printing could be used to provide colorful decorations for an event like this.
