Anchorage to hold weekend-long bear-themed festival

The Chugiak-Eagle River Chamber of Commerce will organize the 2025 Bear Paw Festival in Anchorage.

The Bear Paw Festival is a family-friendly experience with several themed activities. There are several annual events that people can join or spectate, such as The Running of the Bears, the I-Did-A-Duck Race, and the Human Foosball Tournament. Other activities at the fest include visiting The Art of Trash Dumpsters and the Bear Paw Classic Car Show. Fans of competitive events can take part in the ice cream eating competition and the adult trivia night.

The community festival also offers many child-friendly experiences. Kids can go on carnival rides at the Golden Wheel Amusements Carnival. Families may also join the Lego competition at the IDEA Homeschool above Garcia’s. Another special event offered at the Bear Paw Festival is the Teddy Bear Picnic. Children can bring their stuffed teddy bears for medical check-ups and view a teddy bear parade. Hot dogs will be available for free at the picnic, and there will be activities like hula hoops and sandbag games.

The Bear Paw Festival will run from July 9th to July 13th. Some of the activities are free for families, though the carnival and competitive events will cost money. Single ride tickets for the Golden Wheel Amusements Carnival are $1.50 each, and Midway Coupons may be purchased in bundles for $5. Communities that host town-wide events like this may use flyer printing to promote their activities.
