What's Happening in Anchorage, AK…

Turnagain Training will host multiple children's races in July at Service High School in Anchorage.

The Alaska Kid's Splash n' Dash Race Series is a program where those who are 17 and younger can compete for custom race elastic laces, commemorative towels, and awards. Participants can choose between the Sea Otter and Puffin racing categories. Sea Otters must complete one lap in the pool and 2.5 laps on the school's running track. Puffins are required to swim six laps and run 5.5 laps on the track.

People interested in helping out during the race series can become volunteers. Those who sign up for Race Setup will assist with the race tents and chalking the transition area. Volunteers in Pool Support can help count the laps children complete in the pool. People who become Run Course Volunteers will direct kids on where to turn on the high school track. All volunteers will receive a commemorative hat, access to the post-race food, and free admission to a Turnagain Training event in the future.

The race series will be held on July 2nd, July 16th, and July 30th. The cost to participate in each race is $25 per student. Those who want to compete in each race can pay $65. All participants can attend a root beer social on July 31st at Ray Stork Park. Those in charge of similar running activities may use banner printing services to advertise their competitions.
