Rebrand for Falkirk business improvement district

The Business Improvement District in Falkirk has undergone a rebrand to help it build on the work it does and to create stronger links with other business and tourism initiatives in the region.

The new banner under which the Business Improvement District will operate is being called 'Falkirk Delivers'. The initiative aims to bring together various organisations within the town with a view to pooling resources and working to deliver a better experience in Falkirk for residents, traders, businesses and visitors.

Linton Smith, who formerly sat on the town centre management board, commented on the need to change the way that Falkirk was being managed as a town, saying:

“Everyone is aware of the troubles town centres are having and the challenges we face. The reality is town centres have to evolve and that has to happen fairly quickly. It’s not just all about retail: there has to be more business use, more recreational, more residential and more tourism.

“There also has to be a more joined up approach between the public and private sector, as well as politicians, acknowledging how important town centres are to communities.”

Many businesses are already acknowledging this by working together to build up strong relationships. This is helped by various networking events, where companies can expand on their contact lists thanks to the exchange of digital Business Cards.

Falkirk Delivers already has a number of events and projects in the pipeline, including a charity day, a strategy to reduce power costs for members and an arts project that will run for a week.
