New houses to be built in Falkirk

A number of new flats and houses are set to be constructed at a site on the edge of Falkirk, after the local council chose to grant permission to the housing association behind the Plans.

Loretto Housing, an organisation that comes under the Wheatley Group umbrella, is planning to construct nine new flats and twelve houses at the site in question. The chosen spot is between Carronside Street and Cobblebrae Crescent, and used to be home to Cobblebrae Farm.

The flats will all be two-bedroom ones, while the houses are set to include both three and two-bedroom ones. Sim Building Group has been awarded the contract to build the development, which will also feature 46 spaces for cars to be parked in and green areas that are fully landscaped.

The companies behind housing schemes like this sometimes turn to brochure printing supplied by shops in the same area, so that they can properly showcase the amenities in the houses they have on offer once they have been finished.

Although the site was occupied by Cobblebrae Farm in the past, the main farmhouse was knocked down years ago and the site is currently vacant. The homes built there will be available for social renting, with work expected to begin sometime this month. No date for completion of the development has been announced.
