What's Happening in Falkirk, Scotland…

Lindsays National XC returning to Falkirk

A major athletics event is set to return to Falkirk for the first time in two years later in 2022, and the organisers are urging people from clubs across the country to take part.

Lindsay’s National Cross Country Championships – or Lindsay’s National XC – is a key event on the Scottish athletics calendar. Both individual runners and those who are members of athletics clubs are eligible to enter, with the previous one in 2020 attracting a sizeable field of competitors despite the inhospitable weather conditions on the day.

Now with the 2022 championships just around the corner, the organisers Scottish Athletics have put the word out and are hoping to attract similar numbers once again. As with the event two years ago, Callendar Park in Falkirk will be serving as the venue for it.

People who attend athletics events like this as spectators often visit banner printing outlets in the nearby area beforehand, so that they can take banners with them showing their support for the different competitors.

The Lindsay’s National XC is considered to be the peak of the cross country running season in Scotland, coming after the events at Lanark Racecourse and Scone Palace.

Anyone who is keen to take part must get their applications in to Scottish Athletics by Thursday, February 10 and the event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 26.
