Lidl provides Falkirk store update

Supermarket chain Lidl has released further details about its planned new store in Falkirk, including when it will be ready to open.

Lidl previously had a store at Arnot Street, but this closed its doors at the beginning of the year, as the chain announced it would be creating a new one on Kemper Avenue. At the time, Lidl stated that it was aiming to have this ready for opening before the end of the year, but the company has now provided a little more clarity about when it will be.

Although it has not announced a precise date for the opening, the German supermarket has stated that work on building the new outlet is running according to plan. Due to this, Lidl is now saying that its brand new Falkirk supermarket should be ready by the autumn.

All of those who worked at the old store will keep their jobs at the new one, and Lidl will also be hiring additional staff. Supermarkets often have free Promotional Products on offer that are provided by local businesses, adding to the economic benefits they bring.

Speaking to the Falkirk Herald, Lidl GB regional property head Gordon Rafferty said:

“We’re extremely grateful for all the support that we have received so far and would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding.”

The company acquired the site two years ago.
